WhatsApp , the encrypted messaging app owned by Meta, now has multi-device support available to everyone. Currently only those who have opted for the beta test feature can use this
But from this month onwards all iPhone users and next month all Android users will be able to use Multi Device Support without having to opt out.
What is Multi Device Support
This feature allows you to use multiple devices simultaneously. Earlier, the phone was required as a primary device to log in to a second device. You can only log in to the WhatsApp web and desktop app if your phone is online.
But with the advent of multi-device support, you can log in to other devices and use WhatsApp even if you do not have a phone
But you can not send live location, create broadcast lists, send and view broadcast messages on devices other than the primary device. Messages sent through the WhatsApp web will not have a link preview.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has started introducing new emoji reactions to the Android app.
The emoji reaction first appeared in the 2.22.8.3 beta version of WhatsApp. This is a system for responding to messages via emoji. Long press on the message to see the emoji suggestions. Just select it. The system is already available on Facebook Messenger and Instagram
